    • Inspected vehicle for customer concern. Connected scan tool and performed full vehicle scan. Found two codes stored. U0414 (Implausible data received from Final Drive Module) is present in transmission control module, and code C1405 (Transfer case range position sensor circuit high) in the central gateway communication module. Test drove vehicle and monitored live data through communication gateway. Found transfer case is stuck in four wheel drive mode even though selector is in two wheel drive setting. Reset codes and rechecked live data. Vehicle now operating in two wheel drive and error codes did not return. Vehicle shifting normally also. Let vehicle sit and test drove again from cold. Vehicle still shifting normally and no longer in 4 wheel drive mode.

    • Test drove vehicle to verify customer concern. Light is not on at this time. Vehicle lacking power, and unable to rev past 4000rpm. Connected scan tool and checked history. Found random misfire code stored (P0300). Checked fuel and ignition systems. Both working normally. Checked intake for restriction. None found, but vacuum is weak. Removed oxygen sensor from front exhaust manifold to check back pressure. Found pressure around 2psi at idle and raising when engine is revved. Checked back pressure on rear oxygen sensor, and found same issue. Used bore scope on cats, found both manifold cats failed, and secondary cat clogged. Recommend replacement of all converters prior to any further diag.
    • Disconnected exhaust from rear cat. Disconnected exhaust hangers and oxygen sensors from catalyst assembly. Removed exhaust manifold hardware and removed converter assembly. After replacement of catalysts reinstalled assembly to vehicle. Reinstalled exhaust and connected wiring and hangers. Cleared error codes and test drove vehicle. No further lack of power nor check engine light. Emissions monitors set.
    • Removed failed catalytic converters from exhaust manifold and collector. Cleaned pipe connections and welded new converter cores into place. Checked exhaust for any leaks or seal issues. All ok.
    • Inspected right rear tire. Found screw in tire. Screw did puncture tire and is in non-repairable location. Recommend replacement of tire.
    • Remove wheels from vehicle. Inspect brakes. Computer spin balance. Reinstall wheels to vehicle and torque lug nuts to manufacturer's specifications.
    • State tire tax per tire.
    • Tire disposal fee per tire.

    • Found transfer case lever misaligned due to transfer case mounting spacers. Adjusted linkage to align with new transfer case location and reinstalled bushing to help retain linkage. Tested transfer case shifter operation, all ok at this time.
    • Inspected AC system. Found system has pressure, but compressor clutch is not activating. Checked power at ac clutch, none present. Traced power to fuse box, found AC fuse is blown. Replaced fuse and rechecked system function. AC now working properly.
    • Inspected exhaust system for source of leak. Leak appears to be from exhaust manifold. Recommend removal and replacement of exhaust manifold/intake gasket as first step. If exhaust manifold is cracked, may require replacement of manifold.
    • Remove wheels from vehicle. Inspect brakes. Computer spin balance. Reinstall wheels to vehicle and torque lug nuts to manufacturer's specifications.
    • Removed front skid plate and steering damper. Cleaned mounting bolts of debris.
    • Removed worn end links and replaced with quick release style extended links to match vehicle lift. Installed new mounts for sway bar disconnect quick release. Set links to equal length during installation. After driving vehicle, links may need length adjusted if one side is pre-loaded.
    • Scanned vehicle for stored error codes. Found codes P0344, P0340, and P0335 stored and current. All codes are for camshaft/crankshaft position errors. Reset codes and started motor. Code P0344 returned for cam position error. Inspected wiring at cam sensor for damage. Found wires good, and sensor appears to be relatively new. Removed sensor and inspected. Found magnet in sensor is very weak, which will cause sensor to not read properly. Recommend new sensor before any further diagnosis. Replaced cam position sensor. Cleared error codes and started vehicle. No error codes returned immediately and vehicle is running smoother. Test drove vehicle to check additional customer complaints and rescanned after test drives. No error codes stored or pending, and no check engine light present.
    • Test drove vehicle and checked for steering wobble. Found some wobble present from front suspension. Checked front suspension components. Found sway bar end link bushings worn and steering damper weak. Also found tires appear to have lost wheel weights. Recommend tire balance and replacing worn components as first step in repairs.

    • Check coolant level and condition. Pressure test cooling system for leaks. Inspect hoses and cooling system components. Check operation of cooling fans. Removed radiator cap and engine cover. Connected pressure tester and attempted to add pressure to system. Heard bubbling sound in driver side of engine bay. Checked for source of noise. Found heater hose fitting cracked and leaking. Hose goes from upper heat hose to lower radiator hose T. Recommend replacing hose with damaged fitting. Need to drain coolant and disconnect upper and lower radiator hoses from engine to access broken hose. Reconnect hoses after replacement and fill and bleed cooling system prior to checking for any additional leaks. Removed upper and lower radiator hoses from engine. Removed broken heater hose assembly. Replaced heater hose clamp with new unit and installed new hose. Reattached radiator hoses. Filled cooling system and pressure tested. No additional leaks present. Bled cooling system and test drove vehicle. No further overheating and coolant level is steady.
