- Test started vehicle after it arrived, vehicle started ok first time, but would not restart after that. Engine would only crank. Pushed vehicle into shop. Connected scan tool and checked vehicle for error codes, found error code in ECU for crankshaft position sensor, and communication and power codes throughout other modules. Recommend replacement of crank position sensor test drive vehicle clear codes and reevaluate.
- Removed all necessary components including covers and disconnect ground cable from battery ,to gain access to crank position sensor. Replaced with new crank position sensor installed all components removed.After replacing vehicles crank position sensor scanned vehicle for fault codes and found multiple communication codes and low voltage code.Tested 12 volt battery and found below specifications.Recommend to replace battery.
- Install new battery. Clean cable ends. Perform battery adaptation to vehicle as needed. started vehicle and kept running as normal ,test drove cleared all dtc fault codes.Verfied operation and found vehicle starting and running normal at this time.
