Services Performed
- Scanned vehicle for trouble codes, no codes present. Vehicle software up to date. Performed hard reset of the navigation system by removing the systems fuse. Issue is still present. Recommend a new Navigation system.
- Remove dash and trim pieces to access radio unit. Remove mounting hardware and remove radio assembly from dash. Connect wiring to replacement unit and install using original mounting hardware. Reinstall trim pieces and panels. Connect to radio via scan tool to activate unit and transfer adaptations from original unit. Test radio and display functions. Screen is still flashing when system powers up. Recommend information electronic control module is replaced.
- Removed glove box, dash trim, and center console components to access and replace control module with new unit. Connected scan tool to activate new unit and found it is a theft related part and must be remote programmed. Reinstalled glove box and trim pieces.
- Remote Calibration of new IEC Module.
- Raised vehicle. Removed timing belt cover. Removed vibration damper. Turned crankshaft until camshaft belt gear reached top dead center. Secured camshaft hub with diesel injection pump locking pin. Loosened crankshaft holder in camshaft sprocket. secured crankshaft with crankshaft lock. Secured hub on high pressure pump with locking pin. Loosened nut for the high pressure pump belt sprocket. Turned tensioner and secured with lock. Insured all markings for pulleys were aligned to spec. Removed and replaced timing belt. Secured tensioners and confirmed timing is set to spec. Removed locking pins. Reinstalled damper and belt cover. Test drove vehicle. Vehicle in normal operating condition.
- Raised vehicle. Drained cooling system. Removed timing belt cover. Removed vibration damper. Turned crankshaft until camshaft belt gear reached top dead center. Secured camshaft hub with diesel injection pump locking pin. Loosened crankshaft holder in camshaft sprocket. secured crankshaft with crankshaft lock. Secured hub on high pressure pump with locking pin. Loosened nut for the high pressure pump belt sprocket. Turned tensioner and secured with lock. Insured all markings for pulleys were aligned to spec. Removed timing belt. Removed and replaced water pump assembly. Reinstalled new timing belt. Secured tensioners and removed all locking pins. Reinstalled timing covers. Vacuum filled cooling system. Test drove vehicle and allowed it to reach operating temp. Rechecked for leaks. Vehicle is in normal operating condition.
