- No warning lights on during initial test drive. Scanned vehicle for error codes. Found codes 123516 (Electronic Wastegate Activation), 120308 (Charge Air Pressure Control), and 480134 (Direction of Travel Not Determined). First 2 codes are related to wastegate and turbocharger control. Cleared error codes and tested turbocharger control functions via scan tool. Found all functions responding normally. Test drove vehicle and monitored live data. Found wastegate adaptations are out of spec, causing incorrect boost control response. Recommend replacement of wastegate actuator.
- Removed engine covers and intake piping to access mounting hardware on wastegate controller. Disconnected wiring and actuator arm to wastegate flap. Removed actuator and bracket from engine. Installed replacement unit using original mounting hardware. Connected wastegate and wiring. Reinstalled intake piping and performed adaptation of new wastegate to vehicle. Test drove vehicle after completion of spark plug replacement. Live data now shows set point value within spec, and no boost control issues present.
- Removed engine covers. Disconnected ignition wiring and removed coils. Removed spark plugs. Cleaned spark plug tubes of any debris or oil residue. Installed new spark plugs and torqued to spec. Reinstalled ignition coils and wiring. Test started vehicle. OK.
