    • No warning lights on during initial test drive. Scanned vehicle for error codes. Found codes 123516 (Electronic Wastegate Activation), 120308 (Charge Air Pressure Control), and 480134 (Direction of Travel Not Determined). First 2 codes are related to wastegate and turbocharger control. Cleared error codes and tested turbocharger control functions via scan tool. Found all functions responding normally. Test drove vehicle and monitored live data. Found wastegate adaptations are out of spec, causing incorrect boost control response. Recommend replacement of wastegate actuator.
    • Removed engine covers and intake piping to access mounting hardware on wastegate controller. Disconnected wiring and actuator arm to wastegate flap. Removed actuator and bracket from engine. Installed replacement unit using original mounting hardware. Connected wastegate and wiring. Reinstalled intake piping and performed adaptation of new wastegate to vehicle. Test drove vehicle after completion of spark plug replacement. Live data now shows set point value within spec, and no boost control issues present.
    • Removed engine covers. Disconnected ignition wiring and removed coils. Removed spark plugs. Cleaned spark plug tubes of any debris or oil residue. Installed new spark plugs and torqued to spec. Reinstalled ignition coils and wiring. Test started vehicle. OK.

    • Test drove vehicle when cool and was able to recreate noise. After driving for a bit, noise did go away. Reinspected steering system and suspension components for source of noise. Found noise would not duplicate with suspension at droop. Found lower control arm bushings are torn and failing. Also noted boot covers/shields are not sitting properly, and are rubbing on control arms. Sway bar mounting bushings are also worn and cracking. Recommend replacement of control arms, sway bar bushings, and damaged covers before further diagnosis.
    • Removed splash shields and steering rack boot covers. Disconnected ball joints from spindles. Removed lower control arm mounting hardware from chassis. Removed control arm and replaced with new unit. Installed new ball joint nut and torqued to spec. Cycled suspension and torqued chassis mounting bolt to spec. Installed new rack boot cover on driver side. Repeated process on passenger side arm.
    • With splash shields removed, disconnected sway bar mounting hardware from sub frame. Removed brackets and bushings from sway bar. Cleaned mounting surfaces and installed new bushings on sway bar. Reinstalled brackets and mounting hardware. Test drove vehicle after completion of suspension repairs to check for any further clunks or other suspension/steering noises. No further noise present at this time. After completion of alignment, reinstalled splash shields and test drove vehicle again. Still no noise present.
    • Performed 4 wheel alignment. Test drive vehicle after repairs to confirm handling characteristics.

Found error code P0228 (thermostat monitoring) and code 279D (power management, closed circuit violation). Checked live data and found coolant not staying at operating temp. Suspect thermostat is stuck in open position. Recommend replacement of thermostat and checking coolant temp sensor for proper resistance. Also noted AC belt is cracked along length of belt. Recommend replacement of AC belt and checking pulleys and accessory belt for any issues. Power steering system has incorrect fluid present. Fluid is yellow and should be a minty green color. Wipers are torn, recommend replacement. Checked SMG control module for any codes. No codes pending, current, nor in history at this time. Transmission shifting normally at this time.
    • Removed engine covers, intake piping, and splash shields. Drained cooling system. Removed upper intake plenums. Disconnected radiator and cooling system hoses from thermostat housing. Removed thermostat housing from engine and disconnected rear coolant pipes. Cleaned mounting surfaces and sealing connections on coolant pipes. Installed new thermostat into housing. Installed new water pipe adapters. Reinstalled thermostat housing using original hardware. Installed banjo bolts with new washers. Reconnected coolant hoses and lines. Replaced oil return hose and reinstalled intake plenum. After completion of service items, filled and bled cooling system. Checked system for leaks. None present at this time. Reinstalled engine covers and splash shield. Test drove vehicle. No check engine light present. Rescanned vehicle. No error codes stored nor pending.
    • With engine covers removed for thermostat service, loosened tensioner for AC belt and removed damaged belt from vehicle. Spun pulleys by hand. Found tensioner and idler pulley rough. Removed accessory drive belt and checked those components. Belt is cracking, and pulleys are also rough. Recommend new tensioner and idler pulleys for both belts, and new belts. Removed idler pulleys and belt tensioners from engine. Installed new idler pulleys and new accessory belt tensioner pulley. Reinstalled accessory belt tensioner assembly. Installed new AC belt tensioner assembly. Routed new belts and installed both. Reinstalled air intake piping. Checked belts after test driving vehicle. Belts are ok, and no noise present from pulleys.
    • Replace cabin filter element. Reassemble filter housing and access panel.
    • Drained incorrect power steering fluid from reservoir. Cycled steering to drain old fluid from system while adding new power steering fluid. Test drove vehicle after completion of repairs. Topped off fluid.
    • Replace wiper blades on vehicle.
