- Connected scan tool and checked vehicle for error codes. Found code 2EE2 stored in ECU for thermostat activation. Checked live data for temp readings. Found temp reading high even though engine is cold. Recommend replacement of thermostat and temp sender assembly to correct issue. Drained cooling system. Removed intake piping and air filter housing. Moved engine wiring harness to access thermostat assembly. Disconnected temp sender wiring and heater hoses. Removed retaining clip for radiator hose and removed thermostat assembly from engine. Cleaned mounting surface and installed new thermostat and housing. Installed new wiring harness to temp sender and connected to stock harness. Reconnected radiator and heater hoses. Filled cooling system and pressure tested, no leaks present. Reinstalled wiring, intake, and filter housing. Bled cooling system. Cleared error codes. Started vehicle and checked live data. Coolant temp reading normally. Let vehicle idle until it reached operating temp. Fans coming on correctly, and temp readings steady. Test drove vehicle. No further overheating warning on dash, and no error codes stored nor pending.
