    • Removed cabin filter for replacement and found blower fan full of debris from rodent nest. Removed blower fan and housing from under dash. Cleaned debris from fan assembly and cleaned fan in parts washer. Reassembled blower fan to motor and reinstalled into HVAC unit in dash. Installed new cabin filter into housing before reassembly of glove box. Tested fan operation, air output now at normal level.
    • Steam cleaned vehicle and test drove to check for smell. After first round, smell is lessened, but still present. Steam cleaned engine and exhaust a second time. Let degreaser sit on exhaust and front of engine on grime under exhaust manifold to let it soak in. Cleaned degreaser off and test drove vehicle to bring it up to temp and check for any further oil smell. No further smell present during drive, and no smell present under hood. During test drive noted HVAC fan was not putting out much air. Inspected cabin filter and found rodent nest.

    • Connected scan tool and checked codes. Found multiple misfire codes stored and updates available for ECM and ABS units. Removed engine covers and inspected engine. Found rodent tracks throughout engine bay. Found intake vacuum line is broken and leaking after mass airflow sensor. Found evidence of coolant leaking at throttle body pipe. Removed ignition coils and plugs for cylinders 2, 4, 6, and 8. Plugs are lightly worn, but ok. Coils don't show any damage or signs of arcing. Replaced damaged vacuum hoses and cleared codes. Test drove vehicle, no codes returned and check engine light did not come on. Let vehicle sit over weekend and test drove again while cold, still not codes stored or pending. Vehicle running normally. Still some seepage of coolant at throttle body, but no check engine light or codes returned after multiple test drives.

    • Scanned vehicle found code P0430 (Bank 2 Cat Efficiency Below Threshold). Raised vehicle and inspected air fuel ratio sensor and downstream oxygen sensor, both sensors are ok. Checked live data and found sensors are reading and responding, but bank 2 air fuel ratio is varying more than it should. During testing noted smoke coming from tail pipe that smelled of unburnt fuel or oil. Removed engine cover and inspected. Note: Engine cover is cracked. Found intake plenum bolts are shiny and show evidence of recent removal. Ignition coils have been numbered and coil on cylinder #5 is new. Need to physically inspect exhaust, intake, and spark plugs. Further diagnosis is required. If customer has service history of vehicle, it may help narrow down possible cause of excess combustives.
