    • Test drove vehicle to confirm customer concern. Noise is transmitting through whole vehicle. Raised vehicle on lift and spun all tires by hand. Found front right tire is rough when spun by hand. Started vehicle on lift and put into drive. Noise still present at 20 mph with wheels off ground. Checked transmission and driveline components with stethoscope. Noise is originating from passenger front wheel bearing. Recommend replacement of front hub assembly/wheel bearing. Removed right front wheel, brake caliper, caliber bracket, and rotor. Removed axle retaining nut and loosened axle from hub.. Disconnected wheel speed sensor wiring. Removed hub retaining bolts. Removed hub assembly from spindle. (Note: One wheel stud was not seated in hub any more and fell out when wheel nuts were removed.) Checked spindle for signs of damage, nothing visibly present. Installed new hub assembly and reinstalled brakes, hardware, and wheel. Started vehicle on lift and checked for noise again. Noise no longer present. Checked wheel speed sensor data via scan tool, sensor reading properly. Test drove vehicle to recheck for noise. Evan at highway speeds, noise is no longer present. Note: Recommend vehicle alignment is checked due to impact damage to wheels.

Lifted vehicle and checked components, found right rear wheel bearing very noisy when spun by hand. Recommend new hub assembly. Removed rear wheel and brake assembly. Disconnected control arm and removed hub assembly. Cleaned mounting surfaces and installed new hub. Reattached suspension and brake components. Reinstalled wheel. No further noise when spun by hand. Test drove vehicle after repairs, noise level is now at a normal level at highway speeds.

    • Replace rear brake shoes. Clean mounting surfaces. Replace wear sensor as required. Replace brake drums. Lubricate caliper slides. Adjust parking brake mechanism. Performed brake fluid exchange and bled brakes at all corners. Cleared ABS codes, reset module and road tested vehicle. ABS and brake warning lights no longer illuminated and brakes functioning properly.
    • Scanned vehicle for codes. Found code C1344 (Rear Left brake hydraulic circuit) stored in ABS module. Computer not allowing brake fluid into left rear circuit. Pressed brake pedal and engaged parking brake, but was still able to rotate left rear wheel by hand. Inspected left rear wheel and brake line, no leaks found. Removed rear wheel and brake drum. Found brake shoes worn out and allowing brakes to travel too far before engaging. Computer sees excess fluid flow as a possible leak and shuts off rear wheel circuit. Recommend rear brake shoes, drums, and a brake fluid flush. After brake service, reset ABS control module and recheck system.
